About Me!

Celia Macdonald is an Actress, Singer, and Dancer currently living in Wellington, New Zealand.

Celia has just graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts, specialisation in Music Theatre from the National Academy of Singing and Drama Art (NASDA) and now working as a Performing Arts Teacher.

Celia is currently teaching at 3 different schools.

Celia teaches Dance at Leaping Lizards school of Dance, Children's Drama classes with Rata Studios, and Singing with Spotlight Performing Arts School.

Celia was born on the 13th of February, 2000 in Wellington, New Zealand. Raised in the small suburb of Wadestown. Celia's first interest into the Performing Arts started when she began training in Ballet at age 3 with Lynley-Anne Ward's School of Dance. Celia began her Musical Theatre training from age 6 with a Children's Musical Theatre program called "Musical Stars". During High School, Celia began to explore Screen Acting by attending Miranda Harcourt's Teen Stage and Screen Acting Course with Rata Studios in Wellington.

Celia also continued her dance training at Leaping Lizards School of Dance throughout high school, and is now a student at Spiritus Adult Dance School.


Whilst her time at NASDA, she crewed for NASDA’s 2018 Third Year Musical of Little Women, and 2018’s Second Year plays Wild Cabbage and Blood Wedding as Follow Spot Operator, Backstage Floor Crew, and Wardrobe. In 2019 Celia was cast as Maggie Jones in her Second Year Musical of 42nd Street with a Sold Out Season!

Then in her final year Celia performed in John Bucchino's Musical Revue It's Only Life, Robbie the Stockfish/Ensemble in Urinetown, and finally Danny in Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn performed at the Court Theatre

Celia competed in the 2019 New Zealand Dance Awards, performing Model Behavior from Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown in the Pro-Am Musical Theatre Scholarship Category. Celia Won the Most Likely to have a Professional Career Special Award, beating out over 600 competitors.

​

Celia has been involved with Natalie Medlock's Short Film "Goodness Grows Here" as Kirsty, a Daughter trapped in the middle of her two fighting parents during the Kiwifruit Crisis that devastated the Kiwifruit Capital of New Zealand, Te Puke.

​

She has also been involved with TV3's Successful Comedy Web series "Lucy Lewis Can't Lose" as Ruby, directed by Paul Yates, and written by Amanda Alison. There are currently 2 Seasons available to watch on YouTube.
